Early Learning

Jan. 2 - Dec. 30 

 

Starting at the beginning of the 2015 year we will introduce the children to some computer base learning programs such as ABC Mouse and Smarty Ants. Since technology is the primary way we retrive information around the world, familiarizing the children with computers and tablets will allow them to advance and excel when entering the school system.

Ages 3 - 5

11- Noon / 6pm - 7pm Every other Wednesday

 

The children will be encouraged to reenact their favorite stories or make up thier own story and act it out. Costumes, puppets, and arts and crats will be available to create a confortable setting for the children, by the children. 

 

Children will have the opportunity to work in larg groups, in pairs and individually.

Ages 6 - 8

Once a month

 

Children will pair up with each other to become "Reading Buddies". Each child will select a book at his or her age leavel, pick a buddy to pair with, and take turns reading out loud to each other.

 

This activity is to strengthen the child as a reader and give them the confidence to read out loud. This activity will help them become confortble with reading at child care, at school, and at home.

Ages 9 - 12

Every second Thursday Bi - Monthly

 

Children will volunteer at various nursing homes around the city, Reading to the elderly and playing games. 

 

This will help the children improve with reading, help build charter, and give back to the city.
